And soon it's May

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Hi, I haven't blog anything in awhile. So what will be the post be this coming May? This coming May I'll focus on reviewing Chinese movies. I know not everyone is very familiar with them but after watching some I've realized that Chinese movies are more than Kungfu and amazing fight scenes. So far all the Chinese movies I've watched are really good in their own way(minus the death defying stunts). I'm very excited to recommend this movies to my readers. I bet you'll enjoy it.

I'll also review a korean drama because my friend asked me to write a review about it. :)

In case your wondering where I watch this movies and dramas, I watch it in Aznv.tv it's a very good site you can watch dramas, movies and animes without downloading or waiting for it to load regarded you have a decent connection or else it would be really annoying. You just have to download Winamp and your good to go.

Enjoy the coming month! As for me I'll have to drink lots and lots of water to keep me hydrated because right now it's SUPER HOT in the Philippines.

Philippines' People Power and Egypt

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Okay i have totally forgotten about this post. It was left unfinished for a while and only now have i gotten the chance to complete  it. Series of events have quickly unfolded and this post may seem to be outdated but i would still like to post it because a lot of countries have become inspired in bringing back the democracy in their country.

In Psychology there is a term called "frame of reference" since i was not yet born when this happened i am telling the story in my own frame of reference it may seem different and distorted compared to the older and younger generation and there is no need to criticize my thoughts.

A lot of news has been coming out about the massive protest happening in Egypt. Shutting down the internet connection, cutting telecommunication lines. Have made me instantly remember the Philippines' People Power Revolution. Lead by the now deceased Corazon Aquino mother of our President. That time the President was Ferdinand Marcos, Philippines famous dictator though i regard him as a person with a very brilliant mind and i believe that despite his bad reputation have done good things for the country.

I was not yet born when People Power Revolution happened but since it is a very important part of our country's history i think i know enough details about the event based on documentaries, lectures and books.

Summary:

Filipino people for the first time after 30 long years have gathered enough courage to condemn the current administration and bring back the democracy and freedom in the Philippines. After the death by gunshot of the famous opposition senator Benigno Aquino Sr.,while going down to the plane in a Philippine airport. Series of demonstrations were made. Everyone went out of the streets unarmed but high in spirits chanting, praying and waiting for the then President Marcos to surrender his Presidency. After the death of Benigno Aquino his wife Corazon Aquino became the iconic figure of democracy showing the people light for freedom in every sense. She then became the new president after Marcos flew away from the country becoming the first  female president and the first president under the 1987 constitution.

A video would give a better view of this part of our history.

So what the Egyptians are trying to do is possible. After all people are the most important part of a state. But what comes after? 25 years after our famous People Power is the Philippines already a first world country? The big answer is No. Bringing back the democracy is just a step for making a strong and stable economy. I know the people there are hoping for a better life right after the chaos but serious work is to be done. Philippines after gaining back the democracy have stopped aiming higher goals for the country it's sad but i know one day we will make it. I hope the Egyptians will learn some lesson from our history. We may be of different race and culture but we are all under the same sky.

All Souls Day!

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Most of all happy Halloween Everyone!!

I have thought of how to tackle this issue in a positive and non-horror way because i'm not a big fan of horror.

So All Souls Day is coming up. A really big event here in the Philippines. This time is when we commemorate family members and friends who have passed away.

So speaking of death. Have you ever imagined what it would be like after you die? I have often thought about it, and if your gonna ask me why,  it's not what your thinking. In fact I wanna live a long and happy life. It's just that the feeling of not knowing where your gonna go and who are you gonna be with scares me. Death is one of the most mysterious things that will ever happen to us human beings. No one can ever explain how it's feels unlike love and sadness. We won't have any reference, no guidelines, no one to accompany us and most of all we won't have any home to comeback too.

So treasure everything you have and make the most out of your life. So when it's time to walk all alone in the path of death you have enough strength and inspiration to push through. Make as many friends as you can so you can never ever feel alone and love your life cause you'll never know what will happen to you after it is taken away.

AKOMISMO

Saturday, May 2, 2009

watch this: AKOMISMO

here is a video of Filipinos who promote and support change..
i decided not to embed it because it includes the explanation of the
said movement.

You will watch it if you care for our country!Philippines

Everyone is complaining about what our country has become..

but first let me tell you a story..

In a town, a festival is held every year. Each of the town
members are expected to contribute a jar of wine. This jar
of wine will then be put in a very big jar for everyone to
share in the coming festival night. A certain man decided
to cheat and instead of putting wine he put in a jar of water
thinking that it wouldn't affect the taste since he would only
be the one doing that. Then the festival night came..to their
dismay when they tasted the wine they found out that it wasn't
wine at all it tasted purely water. Everyone was ashamed!

i forgot where and to whom..i have heard it..but i never forgot the story

this is a mirror of what is happening in our country right now..
we keep complaining not knowing that we ourselves are the main
problem! we act as if we aren't part of the downfall our country
is experiencing.

Our school president always stress this phrase in his every speech

"change should start from ourselves not from anyone else"

if we want change act ourselves.

ikaw at ako mismo ang dapat kumilos para sa pagbabago
