And soon it's May

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Hi, I haven't blog anything in awhile. So what will be the post be this coming May? This coming May I'll focus on reviewing Chinese movies. I know not everyone is very familiar with them but after watching some I've realized that Chinese movies are more than Kungfu and amazing fight scenes. So far all the Chinese movies I've watched are really good in their own way(minus the death defying stunts). I'm very excited to recommend this movies to my readers. I bet you'll enjoy it.

I'll also review a korean drama because my friend asked me to write a review about it. :)

In case your wondering where I watch this movies and dramas, I watch it in Aznv.tv it's a very good site you can watch dramas, movies and animes without downloading or waiting for it to load regarded you have a decent connection or else it would be really annoying. You just have to download Winamp and your good to go.

Enjoy the coming month! As for me I'll have to drink lots and lots of water to keep me hydrated because right now it's SUPER HOT in the Philippines.

Unstoppable Marriage Korean Movie Review

Monday, April 25, 2011

When Eun Ho(Eugeneand Ki Baek(Ha Seok-jin) met in a Paragliding accident they immediately started hating each other because they hold different point of view on many things. Eunho was an artist who make Korean paper dolls which i have to say are pretty and KiBaek is a Plastic Surgeon. Shortly after endlessly annoying each other, they  fell in love and started a relationship. Now the only problem they have is the approval of their parents. Ki Baek's mother is a business tycoon who hates cheap things and loves anything that came from France. While Eun ho's father is a traditional Korean who does fortune telling. The big difference between the lifestyle of the two made it really hard for Ki Baek and Eunho to convince them to agree on their marriage. Their parents even pretended to be in a relationship just to break them up. After much thought the two decided to part ways because they both wanted to make their parents happy for they have sacrifice their whole life taking care of them alone. After Eunho's Father and Ki Baek's mother realize that the two really love each other. They finally allowed them to get married. It's was truly an Unstoppable Marriage

This film is really funny specially Ki Baek's mom. She's so funny especially when she tries to curse in English that it got stuck in my head. Eugene who I've know from Baker King Kim Takgu and Three Dads and One Mom did a good job but it was definitely not her best acting.

The Beast and The Beauty Korean Review

Friday, April 15, 2011

I'm sure everyone have watch the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. So surprisingly this is what the movie is all about with a modern and funny twist Haeju(Shin Min-a)(Beauty) is Blind and Donggun(Ryu Seung-beom)The Beast is pretending to be a Prince Charming describing himself as his High school hearthrob friend Joon-ha (Kim Kang-woo).

All things were going well between the two when suddenly Haeju got an eye donor and was able to see after the operation. Donggun then panic making an excuse of having a business trip to Hawaii and considered going under the knife to look good or to look like Joonha. While waiting for Donggun to comeback from his supposedly trip to Hawaii, Haeju then met Joonha and immediately thought he was Donggun but because Haeju is a beauty Joonha easily fell inlove with her and started pursuing her. This became Donggun's biggest problem worrying that Haeju might fall for Joonha since his an ideal guy handsome and a job as a Prosecutor to brag. Remembered the funny scene where Donggun intentionally bump to Joonha everytime his on the his way to Haeju's work to visit her and asked him to drink and have a meal almost everyday just to prevent him from visiting her. It was crazy and funny but showed Donggun's dedication to Haeju. After countless alibis Haeju then realized that Donggun was deceiving her. She decides to go to Hawaii all by herself but because she she has no necessary documents she was sent to the airport desk, where she met Donggun who was having problems with his passport, This scene revealed how low Donggun's confidence is in his self, not even going after Haeju after she gets angry. Joonha then decides to give way and thinks of a plan to get the two back together. It was a Happy Ending.

It was a good story at least unlike other Korean movies who emphasize Physical beauty as a superiority this film showed that being beautiful doesn't really come from how we look but how we treat others. On the otherside watching the film I don't think Donggun is ugly or beastly looking. Sometimes films really over do it. Most of all it was really entertaining and funny. True Beauty is deeper than the skin.

Acting wise they were good but just so you know I have a huge bias when it comes to Shin Min Ah because of My Girlfriend is a NineTailed Fox/Gumiho. She was so cute and pretty in that drama that she instantly became one of my favorite Korean actress.

Hello Stranger Thai movie Review

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Added a Poll question in my blog. What kind of movies do you prefer watching?

This movie has been recommended to me by my friends. Since I have nothing to do today i decided to watch it to kill some time. I think that was the best decision i made today. After my A Crazy Little Thing Called Love review I decided to give another Thai movie some spotlight in my blog.

Notes: No Proper name was used in the movie. So i will just use Lead Girl and Lead Boy as my reference and 90% of the film were shoot in South Korea.

It started out with a really catchy scene wherein the Lead Boy(Chunthawit Thanasew) is seen in the back of a car lying, looking like someone molested him. Eventually he stood up went inside the airport with a backpack(that's look empty) and wearing only t-shirt,shorts and finishing the look with is a pair of slippers. (perfect for lying in the couch and watching TV and not for a trip to South Korea). The Lead girl(Nuengthida Sophon) on the other hand looking ready for battle bringing all she needed and being send off by her boyfriend. The Lead boy is with a tour group which he found boring, while the Lead girl was alone exploring Seoul and visiting places where Korean dramas were shoot(Coffee Prince,Winter Sonata, Dae Janggeum etc.). After some series of events they found themselves travelling together in South Korea. They enjoyed the company of each other, sharing their love story, laughing and doing things they never would have thought of doing with a little catch: to not tell their real names so they won't have to care for each other. Soon after they fell in love and almost went back to Thailand together but...

Okay cut! that's about the things i can say about the movie because i want my readers to watch it too. I've given a lot of thought on how to give my readers a better view of the movie without spoiling too much.

This is actually a depiction of how Korean dramas affect the life of those people who watch it. I'm not gonna lie that i haven't watch any of those because I did and i liked it. It would really be awesome to visit those places too but let's not forget before embracing other country's culture embrace your OWN!

The movie was really good and funny. The actors where good and I find the Lead Boy(Chunthawit Thanasew) really cute and I like his character and style better than P'shone of A Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Sorry for that(since i know a lot are obsessed with Mario Maurer)I guess I'm tired of boys who can look prettier than me if they cross dress. The Lead girl is cute to but Nam of A Crazy Little Thing Called Love is still prettier.

If you will ask me which movie is better A Crazy Little Thing Called Love or Hello Stranger? I will not blink and tell you it's Hello Stranger. Both stirred my emotion in a way, but would you choose to cry and reminisce the old days or have a good laugh and open up to the possibility that destiny is what brings people together?

Two Faces of My Girlfriend Review

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Last week i had a Korean movies marathon. Now is the time to share my favorites! I would write 3 different reviews for 3 different films. This being the first one and others will also be written today but scheduled to be post on different dates. I will be very busy this coming days since i'm trying to land a writing  job in Odesk so that i can save up for this camera I really like. If I'm able to reach my goal I promise to review the gadget. Wish me Luck!!

The story started out with with Guchang (Bong Tae-Gyu)who has never been inlove before met a very beautiful, naive and innocent girl named Anni(Jeong Ryeo-Won). Despite Guchang being a typical loser Anni seems to not care and still hangs around with him shortly, Guchang developed a deep attachment to Anni and for the first time in his life fell inlove. All seems to be going to well in Guchang's lovelife I remember a conversation Guchang had with his friend saying that if the girl he'going out with is pretty then there must be something wrong with her but he later gave his friend some support by saying to just bare with her imperfections if he really likes her. And guess what? his friend was right on spot. One night while they were drinking Anni suddenly became a violent and merciless lady beating Guchang until he bled and beg for his life. Guchang thinking it was just the effect of alcohol on her ignored it. Soon Guchang realize that it was not the effect of alcohol but it was Hanni(Anni's split personality). But because of Guchang's love for Anni he ignored all this and still continue seeing her. After all the things he tried to accept will he be able to withstand another blow in Anni's personality? Another twist will happen but i will not spoil cause I think I've said enough.

I've decided to hang the story so that the readers will watch the movie! Yes this is how much i like the movie hanging my review so that readers will watch. The movie is a comedy that will make you laugh out loud at the same time heartwarming that would make you want to fall inlove. I specifically like the Human Lighthouse Scene it was the one of the sweetest scene i have ever seen kmovies.

The acting was really good too. Anni (Jeong Ryeo-Won) who I've known from My name is Kim Samsoon and Which star are you from was believable in performing two different characters in one. While Guchang (Bong Tae-Gyu) was just really good in acting and really funny too.

On a personal note: Since the movie is about personality. In Psychologically it has been proven that all people even those without mental illness or disorder are Bipolar by nature. See how you act differently in front of your family, girlfriend/boyfriend,boss etc. and it is completely normal. Extremity is the only thing that sets it apart from Multiple Personality Disorder
